1. About TryMellon
TryMellon is operated by Augusto Gomez Saa ("Operator"), an individual based in Mendoza, Argentina. The service provides WebAuthn and passkey authentication infrastructure for developers and businesses ("Customers"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
2. The Service
TryMellon gives Customers an API and dashboard to add passkey and WebAuthn-based authentication to their own applications. Customers use this infrastructure to authenticate their own end users ("End Users").
Beta notice. TryMellon is currently in public Beta. The service is functional and in active production use, but it may change, experience unplanned downtime, or behave unexpectedly. No uptime SLA is guaranteed during Beta. A formal SLA with uptime commitments and credits will be published when we exit Beta.
3. Your Account
- You are responsible for keeping your dashboard credentials and API keys secure.
- Each account belongs to one organization or individual. You may not transfer or resell account access without prior written agreement.
- You may operate multiple tenants (applications) under one account.
- Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You may not use TryMellon to:
- Conduct any activity that is unlawful under Argentine law or the laws of the jurisdiction where your application operates.
- Authenticate users in nuclear facilities, weapons systems, air traffic control infrastructure, or implantable medical devices.
- Reverse engineer TryMellon's systems with malicious intent.
- Perform load testing or automated stress testing without notifying us in advance at [email protected].
- Resell access to TryMellon's infrastructure as your own authentication product without an explicit reseller agreement.
5. Your Users' Data
You control your End Users' data — we do not.
TryMellon stores the passkey credentials (public keys), session identifiers, and authentication event logs required for the service to function. This data belongs to you as the Customer.
- We do not sell or share your End Users' data with third parties for commercial purposes.
- We do not use your End Users' authentication data to train machine learning or AI models — our own or anyone else's. This commitment applies even if we incorporate AI features into TryMellon in the future.
- You are the data controller for your End Users' personal data. TryMellon acts as a data processor on your behalf. You must maintain your own privacy policy and a valid legal basis for processing your End Users' data.
- On account termination, you have 30 days to export your data via the API before it is deleted from our active systems.
6. Billing
Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC). Your card or bank account data goes directly to LemonSqueezy — TryMellon never accesses or stores payment credentials.
- Plans are billed monthly or annually depending on your chosen plan.
- All charges are non-refundable except for billing errors on our part or as required by applicable law.
- You may cancel at any time from the dashboard. Your access continues until the end of the paid period.
- If a payment fails, you have 7 days to resolve it before your service is suspended.
7. Beta Status and Availability
During the Beta period:
- We make every reasonable effort to keep TryMellon available, but we do not guarantee minimum uptime.
- For outages longer than one hour, we will notify you by email and post updates at status.trymellonauth.com .
- Planned maintenance will be announced with at least 24 hours' notice, except in security emergencies.
8. Limitation of Liability
TryMellon is not liable for:
- Indirect, consequential, incidental, or lost-profit damages of any kind.
- Service interruptions caused by third-party infrastructure providers (Cloudflare, Railway, or others).
- Data loss caused by your own API actions (for example, accidental credential deletion via the API).
Paid plans. TryMellon's total aggregate liability to a Customer shall not exceed the fees paid in the 3 months preceding the incident that gave rise to the claim.
Free tier. The service is provided with no warranty of any kind. Maximum aggregate liability is USD 1.00.
These limitations do not apply in cases of TryMellon's gross negligence or willful misconduct, or where excluded by mandatory applicable law.
9. Termination
- You may close your account at any time from the dashboard.
- We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, with 7 days' prior notice, unless the cause is an active security threat or illegal activity, in which case we may act immediately.
- On termination, you have 30 days to export your data before it is deleted.
10. Changes to These Terms
We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of TryMellon after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you may terminate your account before the changes take effect.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic, including Law 26,994 (Civil and Commercial Code of the Nation) and applicable data protection and consumer regulations.
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be submitted exclusively to the ordinary courts of the Province of Mendoza, Argentina. For Customers based in the European Union, data protection matters are additionally subject to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
